Far and Near Yet Right Here...

A fellow blogger wants me to write more. That put a smile on my face because often times I have started to blog and just decided to write in my journal instead. I have several blog entries that are unpublished because I thought the content was a bit too personal. I know several of my friends and some of my family read this even though they don't ever want to leave comments! Ha... I know who you are because you always ask me about my entries!Go figure!

Anyways, I was thinking about the many friends I have lost and gained along this narrow highway of life. Sometimes we do not mean to lose touch or ignore the friendship but distance makes it difficult to keep it going. Other times we develop new interests and the old ones are left abandoned. Here is to you, my friend, the one I have neglected to nurture.

Life has a way of passing us by.
And we have a way of forgetting to say "hi."
Not realizing that so much time has passed.
Not knowing when we talked last.
Its been awhile since we've seen each other.
or even talked to one another.

I realize I miss you very much.
and I want to get back in touch.
I hope we don't lose touch again.
For you are a special person, my friend.
I hope that life has been good to you.
And that you've found peace and happiness in all you

I hope you're really doing great things
In your little corner of the world
It's been a while.
God bless and do keep in touch.

Simply, lyrical language always does it for me. This one is a great example. Plus I like the rhyme scheme (where it appears).

I am loving your new blog look! I'm sorry if you've had it like this for a minute and I'm just noticing, lolol. I feel you on the friends and distance bit tho. I struggle so much with 'friend' thing! Its crazy. Sometimes I swear to myself, I dont need friends, just family. And thats all. And there are times I'm sitting in my sofa alone and I'm like dammit, I could do with some company right now!
