Lessons from the Folks

She is always modest
She hardly wears any makeup
Let alone fancy outfits
She had a fro at some point
And she always said "look your best and wear a smile"
"Even if you're wearing rugs, wear it with dignity"

He has never made much money
He chose to serve for a crown unseen
Yet His faith keeps him going
No stress lines 'cos he's blessed
Never disappointed 'cos he's anointed
He always said "Live, love, leave a legacy"

Got that spring in my step from Mama
That caring spirit from my Daddy
Your words may be intended to cut me down
But theirs was intended to lift me up
They labored for me sake,
So your opinions could take second place

For My folks!
